Leveraging

Does the word "leveraging" strike any chord in your heart? Maybe we can associate it with some multi-level marketing or direct selling groups of mantra. We may even feel that there is an exploitative nature of the leveraging strategy in a business model.

Major: When you want to apply "leveraging" fairly, ask whether it is a win-win situation for all parties involved. If it is, then it is technically sound. Go for it. You will be rewarded for helping others succeed.

Minor: Avoid using leveraging techniques if you are extracting more out of others than what you can offer to them. The right understanding of leveraging is duplicating yourself not taking the portions of others.

95% uptime

I had the privilege to visit Alam Sekitar Malaysia Sdn Bhd this morning. What impressed me was the 95% uptime criteria they promised to customers. This means if their service quality is below 95% uptime, they will not send any invoice! This will definite results in customer satifaction because customer only want to pay for something that is worth their money.

Major: Service your customers with quality product and bill them only when the product conform to specification or agreement.

Minor: Never take the money and hope your customer will forget about it when there is a defect in the product.
